PATH is a 12 volume bookwork with text generated by the physical movement of an anonymous individual living in the city of Montreal between 2005-2007. Each time this individual accessed the internet using public wi-fi over the course of this 2 year period they were tagged wiuth a textual passage exploring themes of visual, personal, and spatial patterns as reflected in the lives of fictional characters. Accumulating over time, these behavioral and technological points of contact come to form an intricate fabric of language that both reveals and conceals the pattern of a life lived in the city.
The project, 12 volumes in English and a 12 volume translation into Turkish, showed at the Akbank Sanat in Unrecorded, in Istanbul, Turkey, March 5th to April 16, 2008. Curated by Basak Senova.
