The Hot Tubs

This is an overarching project broken into four sections, each comprised of images produced by custom Flux LoRa models trained on drawings and paintings done by the artist over a multi-year period of investigation into relationships between hot tubs, techno-spiritualism, the body, the night sky, and emergent media forms. Each section has been fine-tuned toward distinct themes within this broader inquiry, produced through iterative dialogue between AI image-generation tools and a literary corpus that engages experimentally with ideas from philosophy, science fiction, and automatic writing from the spiritual world. While the series as a whole returns repeatedly to the tub as an absurd formal anchor, the four sections differ in how they engage the hot tub’s cultural, technological, metaphysical, and aesthetic dimensions.
