Jonathan Eric Tyrrell came to the Upgrade to discuss his work and interest in the specific properties of digital forms, and presented new work from his current series of interactive video paintings. Jonathan Eric Tyrrell Jonathan Eric Tyrrell is a British-born artist with a background in film and video production. His recent practice focuses on issues of media specificity as they relate to the digital moving image. Before emigrating to Canada, he received an MA in Film and Television Studies from the University of Warwick in England. His work has been shown at the Vancouver Art Gallery, the Western Front, Video In, Trinity Square Video, and as part of the New Forms and Open Circuits Festivals. Jonathan is an Assistant Professor in the Media Arts area at Emily Carr Institute.
