CONSTELLATION N.PRAXIS is a pataphysical javascript star-chart which seeks to acknowledge the arbitrary beauty and abstract religiousity of constellations by playing on conventions from mystical literature. The functionality of the work is meant to invoke the tantalizing impossiblity of tracing individual destiny in the stars: each star is visible until it is approached, when it flickers and disappears according to the pattern determined by the actions of the user. Direct interrogation of the fragments, however, restarts the speculative exercise, suggesting a continuation of the wishful fatalism of both poetry and astrology. |
